What we do

At BAUHAUS4MED, we believe in empowering citizens to actively shape their environment. Through our innovative crowdsourcing approach, we provide individuals with the tools and platform to participate in the decision-making process, fostering collaboration and inclusivity. In today’s digital era, citizen engagement has never been easier, and we leverage this to revolutionize urban living by combining aesthetics with sustainability.

Our project focuses on testing innovative solutions that integrate sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetics into the decision-making process. Building upon the success of the Interreg MED BLUE CROWDFUNDING project, we are developing the “CROWDVOCACY” tool—a groundbreaking platform that merges crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, and participative democracy principles with green architecture design. This empowers citizens to co-create tailor-made solutions for better living.

Operating in five testing regions/cities, we will identify participative green community challenges and utilize crowdsourcing to co-create solution ideas. Then, through civic crowdfunding campaigns, we will co-finance these solution ideas and implement pilot projects focused on circular building materials, regenerated green urban spaces, green products, and lifestyle enhancements. Our transferrable toolbox, comprising a best practice catalogue, lessons learned, and the CROWDVOCACY digital tool, ensures the sustainability and scalability of our initiatives.

To mainstream New European Bauhaus (NEB) principles and ensure long-term sustainability, our regions/cities Project Partners will develop green transformation action plans grounded in participatory and aesthetic principles. Thus, enhancing policy impact, transferability, and durability through a series of regional and EU-level events, capitalizing on our partnership with IFLA Europe as a member of the NEB Collective. These include high-policy NEB annual conferences, regional NEB initiative expansions, the Transnational Green Transformation Challenge event, and preparations for NEB Rising Stars 2025.
