A whole morning dedicated to participation, sustainability, inclusiveness, and innovation: on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the C.I.A.F. “Pietro Ferri” in Gorfigliano will host the event “inCOMMON PROJECTS – Ideas from DIDA students for the future of Minucciano,” promoted as part of the European project Bauhaus4Med – Interreg Euro-MED 2021-2027, of which the Tuscany Region is a partner. The territory becomes a laboratory for innovation, the ideas of young people a tool for transformation, and the community an active player in change. These are the core principles of “inCOMMON PROJECTS – Ideas from DIDA students for the future of Minucciano”.

The initiative is part of the European project Bauhaus4Med (B4M), funded by the Interreg Euro-MED (2021-2027) program, in which Regione Toscana is one of the active partners. The project aims to experiment with new models of sustainable development in line with the values of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) – the European Commission’s initiative that combines sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion to make the green transition a cultural transformation accessible to all.
Through B4M, local communities become co-protagonists in a participatory process that enhances the territory and stimulates new forms of green economy and regenerative design, encouraging collaboration among institutions, universities, citizens, and local stakeholders. The May 10th event will be opened by the Mayor of Minucciano, and will feature contributions from Regional Councilor and The Director of the Department for Productive Activities of the Tuscany Region. Projects developed by students of the “Design for Sustainability” course from the Department of Architecture, Design, and Arts (DIDA) at the University of Florence will be presented.
These projects, developed from an analysis of local needs and potential, propose solutions for the future of Minucciano, tackling themes ranging from the reuse of waste materials for new urban furniture to social inclusion, and the enhancement of local, environmental, and territorial value.
A distinctive feature of the event will be direct participant involvement also through the Crowdvocacy digital platform, which will allow attendees to vote for their favourite projects and take part in interactive discussions, in a true spirit of participatory democracy.
The Agenda:
- 9:30 AM – Participant registration and Welcome Coffee
- 10:00 AM – Institutional greetings
- 10:10 AM – Introduction to the themes of the event

“PROGETTI inCOMUNE” aims to be a moment of exchange, vision, and listening – a pilot action where academic expertise intersects with local knowledge and the daily experiences of residents. It is an opportunity to give tangible form to the principles of the New European Bauhaus, transforming inner, rural and marginal areas into experimental grounds for new forms of livability, beauty, and sustainability.
The event is open to the public and is addressed to citizens, local administrators, associations, businesses, students, and anyone interested in helping build a shared vision for the future.
