On December 3-4, 2024, at Impact Hub Athens, the BAUHAUS4MED Project Team met, during its 3rd Project Meeting, for a collaborative discussion concerning the project’s goals and progress.
The meeting kicked off with a welcome speech and an introduction from the host representatives of Crowdpolicy.
Then, Anja Prinsan, representative of the lead partner E-zavod, provided a brief overview of the Project and the potential good practices that may arise from its results. Anja emphasized that discussing solutions, sharing interactive knowledge, and identifying good practices are crucial steps towards the success of a project, let alone our project, BAUHAUS4MED, which is based on the collective identification of problems and challenges and the co-design of proposed strategies to address them.
Following this, the Project Partners presented their assigned Work Packages and their proposals for their Local Nodes, leading to a brief discussion and definition of the next steps for each case, which finally led to an interactive discussion ensued among partners, addressing questions about the methodology and the collaborative tools.
Also, afterwards one to one mentoring sessions were held between Local & Regional Partners with the representatives of the Technical Partners, in order to catalogue the needs and the vision for each local and regional representative about the collaborative tools that are going to be developed.
During the Project Meeting, the partners visited an excellent example of NEB solution in the city of Athens, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center or SNFCC.
SNFCC Designed to have the lowest possible environmental impact, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) is a hub of sustainability and innovation. The creation of an environmentally friendly and sustainable infrastructure has been from the start at the root of the SNFCC’s vision and design by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
This concerted effort has already won international recognition, with the SNFCC becoming the first large-scale cultural project to be awarded the LEED Platinum Certification as a Green Building. Its certification came as a result of its pioneering architectural design, and the incorporation of active and passive technologies that render it one of the environmentally friendliest buildings in the world.
The Partners, during the visit, had a look throughout all the infrastructure. From The National Library of Greece to the Sustainable Olive Garden and Stavros Niarchos Park. Partners Had also the opportunity to reach the top of SNFCC, the famous Lighthouse where they learned about the sustainability hub and have a look at all the City of Athens and the premises of SNFCC, at a glance!
Additionally, throughout the two days of the Project Meeting, had a useful discussion about the principles of NEB Initiative presented by AF. Finally, Crowdpolicy, as the communication partner, gave a brief presentation on the marketing, communication update of the project.
In summary, the Athens Project Meeting was a productive process where partners discussed initiatives, desired outcomes, and strengthened their connections with each other.
