BAUHAUS4MED 2nd Project Meeting in Burgas Municipality!

12/07/2024

On July 2-3, 2024, at the SEA Casino in Burgas Municipality, the BAUHAUS4MED Project Team met, during its 2nd Project Meeting, for a collaborative discussion concerning the project’s goals and progress.

The meeting kicked off with a welcome speech and an introduction from the representatives of Burgas Municipality.

Then, Anja Prislan, representative of the lead partner E-zavod, provided a brief overview of the Project and the potential good practices that may arise from its results. Anja emphasized that discussing solutions, sharing interactive knowledge, and identifying good practices are crucial steps towards the success of a project, let alone our project, BAUHAUS4MED, which is based on the collective identification of problems and challenges and the co-design of proposed strategies to address them.

Following this, the Project Partners presented their assigned  Work Packages, leading to a brief discussion and definition of the next steps for each case, which finally led to an interactive discussion ensued among partners, addressing questions about the participatory tools that might be used.

The discussion of Work Packages 1 and 2 highlighted various strategies and plans from each of the regional or municipal project partners, with some proposals focusing on cultural development and others on the economic growth of rural areas. The main goal however, remains the same for all of them; to connect, transform, and promote NEB principles across borders, regions, and cities.

During the Project Meeting, the partners visited two excellent examples of NEB solutions in the city of Burgas. The brand new Peyo Yavorov Regional Library, which fostered collaborative spaces and various services for citizens of all ages where visitors can learn about the reusable energy resources the library uses, explore interactive features and games for children as well as an ex-abandoned block of  homes, which had been turned into a green open space.

Additionally, throughout the two days of the meeting, the Project Partners participated in interactive games and exercises, which  were established and hosted by Platoniq, with  a goal for the Regional and Municipal Partners to understand the various strategies they can follow for their participative decision-making local action plan.

Finally, Crowdpolicy, as the communication partner, gave a brief presentation on the marketing, communication, and branding plan of the project.

In summary, the Burgas Project Meeting was a productive process where partners discussed initiatives, desired outcomes, and strengthened their connections with each other.
